Download a permitted YouTube video
YouTube often serves video and audio in different formats. APNIX requests a playable option that contains both when one is available, so the saved file works without a separate merge step.
YouTube may ask datacenter servers to verify a request. When that happens on the website, the Android app can try the same permitted link from the phone instead.
Supported link and format notes
Request best available, 1080p, 720p or 480p. The actual result may be lower when YouTube exposes only a smaller combined video-and-audio file.
- Use a normal youtube.com/watch, youtube.com/shorts or youtu.be public link.
- Private, members-only, age-gated, paid and DRM-protected videos are not supported.
- Audio mode returns an available audio stream; its container depends on the source.
